Greece batteries in pv systems

Greece launching EUR-200m solar-storage subsidy scheme

The Greek government is opening for submissions in April a new subsidy programme targeting the installation of small solar photovoltaic (PV) systems and batteries in the residential and agricultural segments.

Batteries for photovoltaics to get priority status in Greece

The Greek Ministry of Environment and Energy submitted its new bill of law to parliament with measures for renewable energy and battery energy storage. One of the most important changes is that the installation of a behind-the-meter battery in photovoltaic plants would benefit from a fast-track licensing procedure.

Greece launches €200 million residential solar-plus-battery

The new scheme can cover between 20% to 65% of PV system costs, depending on the subsidy pot. For batteries, the first two subsidy pots will cover 100% of battery purchases and installation.

Greece readies for next battery storage growth phase

Greece has installed about 7 GW of photovoltaic capacity under various remuneration systems (e.g. feed-in tariffs, premium tariffs etc). It makes economic sense for the government to allow the solar farms with the lowest tariffs to install batteries behind the meter.

Greece launches subsidy program for rooftop PV with batteries

Households are required to install a battery along with the solar power system, while farmers have the option to only install PV systems on their roofs. The maximum installed capacity for the PV system is 10.8 kW compared to 10.8 kWh for the battery.

Greece launches 200 MW battery storage auction

The Greek Regulatory Authority for Energy, Waste, and Water (RAAEY) has launched the country''s third auction for standalone, grid-scale, front-of-the-meter battery energy storage systems. The auction seeks to

Greece launches 200 MW battery storage auction

The Greek Regulatory Authority for Energy, Waste, and Water (RAAEY) has launched the country''s third auction for standalone, grid-scale, front-of-the-meter battery energy storage systems. The auction seeks to award 200 MW of battery storage projects, 100 MW less than initially announced when the 1 GW subsidy program for this type of energy
